Manufacturing Rack 101 will cover topics related to the production of rack and accessories. Information on steel chemistry, paint finishes, and the basics of welding, forming and rolling steel into rack will be discussed.
This course will require users to attend stations in the plant and observe manufacturing processes, powder coat painting and the packaging of product as it heads to the Shipping Department.

This lesson covers the manufacturing of a beam including the mill line and welding operations, capabilities and limitations. Course material includes the process from coil to finished part and a video of a beam being milled as well as views of the automatic and manual beam welding fixtures. Steel is the basis for all things rack. Therefore, this lesson provides information about the various types of steel that we use to manufacture our products as well as the thicknesses and how they effect capacities and design. This lesson has a prerequisite of Components of a Rack System.
Powder Coat Painting
This lesson will look into the powder coat painting process and the capabilities of all UNARCO paint lines in all plants. A field trip to each powder coat paint line in the plant and guided tour is required before the quiz for this lesson may be taken.
What is Roll-Forming?
